Project Interweave

Project Interweave is a school-based program linking students, families and the community to promote positive youth development and educational success. Students referred to the program may have poor attendance, family and school conflict and live in undeserved communities. Interweave employs a positive, solution-focused approach to identify root causes that present symptoms such as truancy and low academic achievement.

Communities Served: North, West and South areas of Chicago

Participants Served: 47

Outcomes:

  • 88% of students in this program have less conflict at home, as reported by parents
  • 50% of students in this program accumulate the credits needed to be promoted to the next grade level.

One youth in Interweave exclaims:

  • "I was very happy when I received help with my FAFSA."
  • "I learned how to ask questions if I need to."
